MUST READ Best new books (out one year or less)

Inbound Marketing by Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah has a forward by David Meerman Scott, and has been endorsed by Seth Godin and Guy Kawasaki. The authors are the founders of HubSpot so they don't just walk the walk, they laid it out and paved it. This is a bit of a how-to guide for pulling together the kind of marketing that is starting to take over the world of business. We consider it a "must read" for anyone not already an expert in web based marketing. Trust Agents: Using the Web to Build Influence, Improve Reputation, and Earn Trust by Chris Brogan and Julien Smith is a brand new 5-Star book by the author of one of the best-known blogs on the web. Seth Godin says, "This one's a keeper. If you do business online (or do business with people who have ever been online) or know someone who once used a computer, I strongly suggest you get smart about the ideas in this book."
Predictably Irrational, Revised and Expanded Edition: The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions is written by Dan Ariely. If you read the first version, and faithfully listen to Arming the Donkey's, Ariely's weekly Podcast, you're probably addicted, as am I, and this will be a "must have / must read" too. The fact is that humans not only react totally irrationally - but that they do so in a way that is predictable. 6/09 Who's Got Your Back Is a great new book by Keith Ferrazzi, author of the best selling Never Eat Alone. When the back of the dust jacket carries endorsements by Jack Canfield, Seth Godin, and Marshall Goldsmith, among others, you know before you crack the cover that there's something good inside. This book stresses the importance and the how-to of finding 3 people who will slap your back or kick your butt - exactly when you need it, but most of all, they will always have your back! 6/09
This is a book that will make you explode with your own power and possibilities. If you only read one book this summer, make it Michael Port's The Think Big Manifesto! In fact, don't just read it. Every single one of us has something in our life that we care deeply about and most of us feel that we're too small to make a difference. What if we're wrong? Take a chance. Think Big! Leave your mark! Make a Difference! 4/09 "Rule # 36: MESSAGE TO ENTREPRENEURS: MANAGING YOUR EMOTIONAL FLOW IS MORE CRITICAL THAN MANAGING YOUR CASH FLOW." That's just the rule I happened to open the book to. I closed the book and tried again. "#31: EVERYTHING COMMUNICATES." The other 50 of Rules of Thumb - 52 Truths for Winning at Business Without Losing Yourself by Alan M. Webber are just as good. 4/09
